Scripture Study Tips & Tricks

We had a youth activity a little while ago about studying the scriptures.  We wanted to help the youth to be able to study the scriptures more effectively and purposefully.  I researched some different ideas from a few different sources (mainly LDS.org) and came up with quite a few.  I put them down on 8-1/2" x 11" paper to give as a handout to the youth.  I made a girly version and a boy version.

The second page is exactly the same, but I switched up the first page a little bit.  Here are some more views.  If you click on the image it will take you to the download of that page.

I use these myself and find them to be very effective ways of studying.  I'm sure there are more ways then this even.  I'm always looking for new and exciting ways to get more out of the scriptures, so if you know any more please feel free to leave a comment.

  1. I just want to thank you for sharing your talents with others! Our Bishop has asked the youth in BYC to present a reset program in our ward. We are going to be challenged as a ward to shut phones off for 3 hours during church and we are being challenged to read the Book of Mormon from conference to conference. These cute handouts will be PERFECT for our special meeting this coming Sunday. I can't say Thank You Enough!!

    1. Maggie, you can download them, for free, from our e-commerce store: http://intheleafytreetops.com/downloads/?sort=featured&page=2

Dropbox locked us out because we had too much traffic.

  4. We use our devices to study the scriptures at Church. Yes, silence your phones. Put them on "airplane." Do not answer calls or texts or be concerned about them in the least unless it is an emergency. Study and use your Quads and Triples and Bibles and Book of Mormon, make notations in them, but use your phones, tablets, and computers to quickly go from one reference to another, one quote to another, to enable study and make the most of class time.
