Be a good sport

IDay 9: Be a good sport

This talk by Elder Jeffrey R Holland is the theme of today's giveaway.

Keep loving. Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever.

Elder Holland goes on to say:

Please remember tomorrow, and all the days after that, that the Lord blesses those who want to improve, who accept the need for commandments and try to keep them, who cherish Christlike virtues and strive to the best of their ability to acquire them. If you stumble in that pursuit, so does everyone; the Savior is there to help you keep going. If you fall, summon His strength. Call out like Alma, “O Jesus, … have mercy on me.” He will help you get back up. He will help you repent, repair, fix whatever you have to fix, and keep going. Soon enough you will have the success you seek.

“As you desire of me so it shall be done unto you,” the Lord has declared.

“… Put your trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good--yea, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously. …
“… [Then] whatsoever you desire of me [in] righteousness, … you shall receive.”

I love that doctrine! It says again and again that we are going to be blessed for our desire to do good, even as we actually strive to be so. And it reminds us that to qualify for those blessings, we must make certain we do not deny them to others: we are to deal justly, never unjustly, never unfairly; we are to walk humbly, never arrogantly, never pridefully; we are to judge righteously, never self-righteously, never unrighteously.

Today's giveaway is all about cheering our children on in all of their activities.  It's about remembering why we do the things we do.  It's about remembering that heaven is cheering us on each and everyday to be a good sport and try and try again even when we fail and fall short...we keep striving.

  2. Hi Melinda!
I have been loving your giveaway items so far. It has also been very inspiring. Since everyone can't win is it possible for you to do a post at the end of all the give aways of all the items and where/how we can get them? That would be awesome! Thank you so much!! God bless you!

  3. STICKERS! I have to say I LOVE stickers, all kinds of stickers. I use them in my planner (to attract attention or even for a splash of color). I use them in my scrapbook. I use them to hold notes to lunch boxes (a little encouragement or expression of love). I use them to hold serving instructions on compassionate meals. I love that a piece of adhesive has the power to elicit a smile, a laugh, and can feel like a warm hug. I am very excited to see a challenge with a sticker reward but as Janelle has said, since everyone can't win would you please post where you sourced them? Although I admit, I would really LOVE to win today's challenge.
